We are very pleased to inform you that the dancer and professor Mr. Bafana Solomon Matea will travel from London to deliver a two-day Contemporary African dance seminar, with contemporary art by Alvin Ailey, on the weekend of 2 and 3 February 2019. Mr. Matea was born in South Africa, and earned a scholarship for New York’s Alvin Ailey School of Business, where he later danced as a guest student. In the years of his dancing career he collaborated with major professional dance groups such as Elisa Monte Dance, Ballet Hispanico, Battery Dance company and in 2014 signed a contract with the Tavaziva Dance Company in London. He has choreographed for the Battery Dance Company and his work has been presented in New York, Africa, South America and Europe. He has also danced professionally in over 50 countries in the world. She is currently teaching London in professional dance schools such as Trinity Laban, Bird College, Morea Performing Arts and Wilkes Academy as well as Scottish Summer School ‘The Dance Summer School’ that we often take as a school.
